Below is a simple sequence of seven self-practice hand positions often taught to beginners. Lineages differ, so if you have a teacher, follow their sequence. Illustrations are simple diagrams drawn for Reiki.cn; the shaded areas show where the hands rest.
How to use this sequence
- Sit or lie down comfortably. Touch should be light; you can also hold your hands just above the body.
- Stay in each position for about 2–3 minutes. The practice timer can help.
- Skip any position that is uncomfortable.
